Sungai Sarawak

The street alongside River Sarawak is Main Bazaar, the oldest street in Kuching (dating back to 1864).

砂拉越河岸旁的街道就是古晋最古老的街道海唇街 (可追溯至1864年)。绿油油一片的河畔就是古晋河滨公园了。

Sungai Sarawak (Sarawak River) flows through 120 km of dense tropical forest and of course the city of Kuching too. It's river basin covers an area of 2,459 sq. km.


The majestic mountain at the far back is Mount Serapi (911 m).
在后方的远山是马当山 (911公尺)。

砂拉越河流域有2,459平方公里，流经120公里的热带雨林。图中数公里的这一段已很自然地融入古晋市民的生活当中 。



The famous annual Sarawak Regatta is held here.

一年一度的砂拉越龙舟赛就在此举行，人声鼎沸。


On the left is the nearly completed new Sarawak State Assembly building and at the far back is Mount Santubong (810m).
左边金色屋顶的建筑物就是即将完工的新砂拉越州立法议会大厦 而后方的远山是山都望山 (810公尺)。


The white color building on the left is Fort Margherita.
河岸左边的白色建筑物是瑪格烈達古堡。

Fort Margherita was built in 1879 to guard Kuching from approaching pirates. It was named after Charles Brooke (1829-1917) (the 2nd White Rajah of Sarawak)'s wife, Ranee Margaret. It now houses a Police Museum.

建于1879年的玛格烈达古堡的最初目的是用来防卫由河道入侵古晋的海盗。取名自砂拉越第二白人拉惹查尔斯布洛克 (1829-1917)的夫人莱妮玛格烈。它现在用来作为警察博物馆。
