Romania

Frankly speaking, my knowledge and impression about this Eastern European country called Romania is very limited, but the moment I saw these few pictures, I was completely blown away.

Rural Romania is just so breathtaking ...

They are the works of my friend from Romania, Marius, you can visit his blog at mariusgrozea .

Berdudun Ta'un Baau 2009

My friend Ramon was very busy that day.

So was John Ling, seen here with his son.

On January 3rd, 2009 (Saturday), I was invited by The Melanau Association of Kuching (PMK) to attend their Welcoming of 2009 New Year Gathering ("Berdudun Ta'un Baau 2009" in Melanau language), the function was held at Wisma Melanau, at Halaman Kurung Sian, Ong Tiang Swee Road, Kuching.

Traditional Melanau food in nice setting.

Melanau is one of the more than 25 ethnic groups who call this great land Sarawak their home.

Wow !

I pride myself to be a Sarawakian and am truly blessed to live in a society where most if not all of its people respect each other's differences and cherish each other's similarities.

Roberto's Gift

Roberto

A Christmas Gift

This is a Christmas gift my daughter received from her uncle Roberto, all the way from England, though it didn't make it to Kuching before Christmas, it didn't matter, it's the thought that counts ...

Thanks a lot Roberto.

By the way, Roberto, where's mine?
