SMS & BLOOD APPEAL
Technology is a double-edged sword, it can either bring benefits to humankind or bring destruction to it.
SMS is one of the most powerful communication methods modern technology has to offer and its effectiveness as a means to appeal for blood is never in doubt.
Every SMS we (FCY) received appealing for blood is looked upon seriously as it could be a matter of life and death.
First and foremost, the SMS will be forwarded to FC
Y's Director of Welfare forthwith to verify its source, to find out whether it's genuine and that it's not " stale " or obsolete. This process is crucial as many a time, upon verification, we found out that either the SMS has been in circulation for many years, or that the appeal was from overseas or outside Kuching or Sarawak beyond our reach. Sometimes we were even told that the person who needed the blood has long passed away or that has recovered long ago or that it's a prank or etc.
This process of verification though painstaking is crucial to ensure blood will be channeled to the person who is actually in need on time without unnecessary waste of resources.
And sometimes if we found out that the Blood Bank was in shortage of certain blood types, we could even use our existing network to help appeal to our regular blood donors to come forward to donate blood.
To all the blood donors, blood bank officers, sponsors, media and all parties concerned who have given us their all out supports for this meaningful blood donation campaign we have been doing for more than 10 years, we say a BIG thank you. You are truly our motivations and inspirations. Hope there are many more 10 years to come.
Blood donation without a doubt is a noble deed, the pint of healthy blood each donor has donated will finally become part of someone’s blood, so that he or she could carry on with his or her life, so that his or her heart would keep on beating …
There was this blood donor who once told me, many years ago he was involved in one life threatening traffic accident but managed to escape death through many pints of blood that went into his body and was lucky to live to see his children grow and the sun rises and sets. He then made it a mission to donate blood as long as he is able to, so that the good deeds of those nameless and selfless blood donors who saved his life could pass on.

短訊與求血
科技的发达肯定是会带给我们很多方便的，如果没被滥用的话 ...特别是当病患者，急需血液者或其家人朋友发出求血的短讯时，那种一传十，十传百，百传千... 的效率和速度是非常惊人的。當然，類似的短訊也時常出现在我手机的荧幕上。
我们晋汉省华青团非常慎重看待这些人命关天的短讯。通常我們的福利组会先即时追溯短讯的来源，与求血者的家属取得联系，
证实短讯的真伪以及最新状况，然后才视情况而定来决定是否要通过我们的联络网呼吁捐血，還是直接接洽血库。这个步骤看似简单，但是却是非常关键的。
由于短讯的流传很广，又是无止境的，我们是有必要调查它的来源，看它是否已经“过时”。很多时候当我们与求血者家属联系上了才知道那是好几年前的求血短讯了，不然就是來自国外或西马的短讯，让我们“近水救不了远火”。有的当事人早已经 ....， 当然有的当事人也已經康复出院。 
晋汉省华青团开始积极从事捐血活动的工作已有10年的历史，民众也常在报章，电台及各大小公共场所读到，听到和看到我们的捐血活动，也非常积极和踊跃地参与我们的捐血活动。
商家们也很乐意地通过我们赞助赠品给捐血者，各机构单位也很乐意地免费给我们提供场地，桌椅等器材，媒体也非常乐意地帮我们免费宣传，捐血者更是对我们的捐血号召一呼百应，这些都是我们这么多年来能够一路坚持，一路努力，风雨无阻地继续举办和推動捐血活动的动力来源。
捐血救人是多麽有意义的一件事啊！我把我的一包热血捐出去，也不知这一包血以后会在谁的身上流动，使谁的生命继续发亮，让谁的心脏继续跳动 ... 不求回报，也不求你的肯定，那是多麽无私，多么大爱，多么让人感动啊。
有一位捐血者跟我分享，他年青时因为一场交通意外，输了好多包血才把命给检回来，就是那几位无名救命恩人的血，让他得以生存下来，让他能够继续看到他的孩子长大，看到每天的日出日落，所以他发愿，在有生之年，要不停地将他的血液捐出来救人，就像他那几位救命恩人那样，要把他们的大爱延续 ...
每一位捐血者都有一个可歌可泣的故事; 就算没有，他至少有一颗挚热的心，一颗要救人帮人大爱的心 ...
