Dum Spiro Spero, it´s surprising this motto for a very far country from Europe, I don´t know if Indonesia has been invaded or colonized by europeans, if not, it´s more surprising. Indonesia, our neighboring country was part of the Dutch colony...
Malaysia used to be part of the British empire ...
My state Sarawak is even complicated (some said romantic), it used to be the Kingdom of the White Rajah, the Brooke's family (1841-1946).

The building was built in 1931 during the Brooke's era, Namaki.
The Brooke's family (The White Rajah) ruled Sarawak (now one of the 13 states of Malaysia)for over a hundred years (1841-1946).
1841–1868 ~ James Brooke
1868–1917 ~ Charles Anthoni Johnson Brooke
1917–1946 ~ Charles Vyner Brooke
So there were some British influences there ...
