曾经让我去西班牙打扰数天的大学好友Roberto终于来了，我们最后一次见面是在1993年的夏天，那是好久好久以前的事了 ...
终于也让我在古晋能够尽地主之谊还回欠他十多年的那份人情，我自认我这热带风情的人情味，不逊色于他那地中海的人情味哩 ...
说真的，1993年的炎炎夏天让我在西班牙农家小屋渡过至今还让我回味无穷，津津乐道的假期。

还有我拿着一本英文/西班牙文字典以生涩的西班牙语与Roberto的父母鸡同鸭讲交谈的画面 ...
当然，还有走在西班牙乡下农村路上引起当地人围观的锋芒 (其实是窘相)毕露情景 ...

Summer 1993, I spent one of my most memorable vacations in beautiful Spain, among and in the company of Roberto's family and friends... and Lobo, Roberto's dog, too of course. So much so that I have written a few prose about my experience there, among them are "A Dog named Lobo" and "The Grape Tree" , which can be found here in my blog.

My trip to Sarawak provided me with the pleasure to meet an old friend which I made at Nottingham Trent University. Many many years ago we met each other and we found that despite coming from very different places of the world our differences were not that big, we found that we enjoyed our long conversations and sense of humour as much or even more than the ones we shared with other friends from the same country.
Su describes me, among other things, as a 'lone ranger'. Being such a kind of guy it was easy to go to Sarawak, enjoy seeing my friend again and discovering a beautiful place at the tropics thanks to Su's hospitality. Coming from Spain I was not prepared for the mix of humidity and heat but I enjoyed it. I have a long list of memories from the time I spent there and it would be asking too much of readers if I wrote them. Hence I am going to write down one of my thoughts: Su is a great guy involved in many activities for the community (blood donations, sports competitions,..). I have hardly met people so involved and committed with the community around himself. If we all followed a little bit his example and took a bit more care of the community around us, would not it be this a better world?
Someone please hand me a tissue paper ...
